"What's for dinner babe?"

I usually don't cook dinner at our house, but since I have taken the role of "stay at home mom" I decided to change that. Jake asked me what we were having for dinner tonight so I got on my favorite site Pinterest to go through the many recipes I had pinned (but never thought I would make) and found a crock pot recipe for sweet BBQ Hawaiian chicken.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4-6 boneless chicken breasts (I used 2 since it is only me and Jake at home)
  • 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 1 20oz can of pineapple chunks that have been drained
  • 1/3 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1tbsp corn starch

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Let chicken thaw out overnight
  2. add all ingredients and the chicken into your crock pot
  3. give it a little stir so that all your chicken is covered in the sauce
  4. let cook on low for 8 hours
  5. serve over rice and/or vegetables
* on a side note I cooked my chicken breast whole so that Jake and I could each have one, but if you're serving a larger group or just want to make leftovers easier to store you should cut your chicken up smaller.

This is what mine looked like when it was done. Not the best plating, but it was delicious!

This recipe is really simple and was made from ingredients I already had in my pantry. You can find the original recipe and many more cost saving crock pot recipes on this website: femiology.com
